Colombuddy Program, Student Accommodation

Colombuddy Leaders work within the program to help new Colombo House residents adjust, learn and get settled into UNSW life. Leaders also help new residents find friends on arrival to Colombo House, UNSW and Sydney.

Responsibilities

Colombuddy Leaders act as the conduit between new residents, the Resident assistant team and the Residential life staff, including the Deputy Dean, Dean and Head of UNSW colleges.

Leader

Training

Colombuddy participants will run through face to face training and role playing sessions to develop their skill set prior to starting engagement with new students. Resources will be sent and milestones for weekly activity/outcomes will be provided. Training will also be provided in regards to conflict resolution, ALLY@UNSW, sexual health, safety and security, communication and team building.

Duration

The program runs between July and February as well as the first 4 weeks of the academic calendar in Semesters 1 and 2 on top of 2 weeks prior to start of academic calendar in which they are oriented to the College, University and local community.
