MateriaAustralia is a sustainable materials library. It's purpose is to serve architecture, art, design and engineering students with a accessible way of finding and understanding sustainable materials for their projects. MaterialAustralia's Swatch Library is a shared resource that provides physical swatches of materials and indicators based on the six principles of Life Cycle Analysis including lifecycle, human safety, social impact, management, water use and energy use.

The activities involved in this initiative include, building a storage system for samples as well as contacting manufactures to research and source green materials. You will learn where to find innovation materials, how to catalogue and classify materials, how to deal with suppliers and how to design & build a storage solution.

The Material and Design Research Volunteer is responsible for sourcing sustainable materials and communicating information about the product.
