UNSW Engineering has a mentoring program to help new students make a smooth transition to university life. Meetings with mentors usually run for the first 4 weeks of Semester 1. Flexible First Year students can join in with any School they have an interest in.
Mentors act in a non-academic role helping new students find their way around UNSW, provide advice on opportunities available, and help students form a social network.
An email is sent in December to Engineering students who have completed 48 UOC and hold a current WAM of 65 and above. Those students that are interested may register or express their interest.
Peer Mentor
If the student has not completed the Mentoring training they need to attend a 1 day training session which is usually held in February.
