Women in Engineering Camp (WIEC) Houseparent and Mentor

A week-long residential camp at UNSW for school-aged girls that aims to attract , engage and inspire prospective female engineering students. Students will be working in teams on an engineering design challenge to build a leg brace while receiving mentorship from current engineering students who will be acting as ‘houseparents’.

Responsibilities

All houseparents are senior female UNSW Engineering student ambassadors, and have been carefully selected by University staff.

All houseparents have undergone the Working with Children check by the Commission for Children and Young People.

How to get involved

Interested students are invited to apply in October of each year.

Houseparents attend a briefing day and receive a manual prior to the camp.
