How often does the UNSW Next Step Program run?
The UNSW Next Step Program runs three times a year in T1, T2 and T3.
If I apply, does that mean I am automatically accepted into the program?
No. Numbers for the UNSW Next Step Program are limited, you are not automatically accepted into the program even if you meet all the eligibility requirements, your application will be assessed.
Once accepted into the program, do I need to complete any pre-program activities?
Once accepted into the program you are required to complete the Career Futures Inventory. This is a short online survey which is designed to assess your attitudes towards career planning. The survey will be sent to your email directly by the Student Academic and Career Success team if you are offered a place on the program.
I have classes on during the program. Am I able to participate for only part of the day?
This is a 2-day online program which includes compulsory live sessions and flexible online learning activities. The live sessions require attendance at their set times (see below):
Monday 19 October: 10am – 11am and 3pm – 4:30pm
Tuesday 20 October: 10am – 11am, and 1pm – 2:30pm* or 3pm – 4:30pm* and 4:30 – 5pm
*You only need to attend one of these sessions
You must be available to complete all components of the program over the allocated 2 days in order to participate.
Will I be contacted after the program?
The program is designed to assist students in landing a job after university. As part of the application process we will request your permission to contact you after graduation to collect employment data. Data will be used for reporting purposes only and individual data will remain anonymous.
