How to Create an Event

Here are step by step instructions for creating an Event on the Current Student Gateway website.

An Event is a course, seminar, workshop or other event. It displays on an Event page, and in the relevant Events feed.

An event will not display in the Events feed until its page is published. Only users with Editor access to the Current Student Gateway can publish a page.

You first need to have logged in to edit the site - https://student.unsw.edu.au/user

  1. In the admin/menu bar, select Add content.
  2. On the Add content page, select Event.
  3. On the Create Event page, insert a Title for the event and complete the Date, Location, Description and other fields as necessary. You can upload images and attach documents to this event.
  4. Under FILTERS,only make a selection if the event is targeted at a specific audience, e.g. International student. For events for a general audience, leave all boxes unchecked.
  5. Under Administrative Group, select the appropriate group from the drop-down list. This setting controls who can edit/publish this page.
  6. At the bottom of the page, click Save.

If you can't see the event when logged out of the website, you may need to publish the page.
