Embed a YouTube Video

This page contains step by step instructions for embedding a YouTube video on pages in the current student website.

How to upload video to YouTube

You can upload videos to YouTube via theBox media management system (http://thebox.unsw.edu.au).

Embed a YouTube video
  1. Navigate to the YouTube page containing the video you want to embed.
  2. Below the video thumbnail, click Share.
  3. In the resulting Share/Embed/Email box, click Embed.
  4. Copy the highlighted embed code.
  5. On the Current Student website Create Page or Edit Page page, click the Add media icon .
  6. In the resulting box, click Web.
  7. In the Web window, paste the copied embed code into the URL or Embed code field.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. In the Embedding [video name] window, select an appropriate format and click Submit.
  10. On the Create Page or Edit Page page, check that the video displays, and click Save.
  11. On the draft page, check that the video displays and plays correctly.
