Latin American Studies Program

This four-week program offers students the opportunity to have a cultural and academic experience in Colombia, while taking subjects on Latin American issues at Universidad de La Sabana.

Program dates: January 21st to February 15th of 2019

  • La Sabana's Latin American Studies Program is aimed at students and young professionals from varying disciplines. If you are interested in learning more about Latin America from various perspectives such as business, economics, international relations, political sciences, international studies or cultural studies, this Program is great for you.
  • You can choose one of the courses offered each year.
  • If authorized by your home institution, this program can be recognized as part of your studies as you will receive a transcript of records. You will be required to complete a final assessment for the course that may vary depending on the course and may include research papers, oral presentations, class participation, etc.
  • Language of instruction: English

LASP Program Costs

The total cost of the program includes the following:

  • Tuition fee
  • Airport pick-up
  • Welcome lunch at La Universidad de La Sabana
  • City tour of Bogota
  • 60hr Spanish language program
  • Transport to and from activities, guides and entrance fees
  • Home-stay accommodation in Bogota. Includes: individual bedroom, breakfast, dinner and laundry service once a week or washer available on site.
  • Farewell lunch

 

Participants are required to have international health insurance that covers both accidents and illnesses for the full length of stay in Colombia.

  • Students from partner universities (tuition fee is waived): USD 1,950*
  • Students from non-partner universities: USD 2,450*

Risk assessment

All programs involve some degree of risk to participants.
