Mitacs Globalink Research Internship 2020

The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a competitive initiative for international undergraduates. From May to October in 2020, top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship under the supervision of Canadian university faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines, from science, engineering and mathematics to the humanities and social sciences.

Mitacs Globalink Research Internships are currently available at over 45 universities across Canada. For a list of the student projects that are available at these universities please visit here.

 

Eligiblity:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate or combined undergraduate/Master’s degree granting program 
  • Be in the penultimate or final year of an undergraduate program, or combined undergraduate/ Master’s program
  • Students are required to meet the following minimum grade requirement (or equivalent): 75%
  • Able to speak and write in the language of the project (English and/or French).

Funding

Globalink Research Interns receive financial assistance from Mitacs and their partners for the following:

  • Flight and student visa reimbursement
  • Accommodation and daily stipend
  • Medical insurance for the duration of the internship
  • Professional skills courses
  • Industry events, such as meetings with professors, government representatives, and business leaders

Apply

Students should apply directly to the Program via their website by 6am September 19, 2019 (AEST).

Risk assessment

All programs involve some degree of risk to participants. If you choose to source a provider on your own, please remember to do some research on them first and ensure that they are a legitimate organisation and that the product they offer will definitely meet your requirements. Students are therefore advised to undertake their own risk assessment before departure and any participation in these programs is at their own risk.
