U21 RISE Showcase and Awards

Published: 14 October 2019

U21’s newest student opportunity is RISE (Real Impact on Society and Environment). It is an international showcase of student achievement in sustainability and social innovation designed to accelerate the scale and impact of student-led projects by connecting them with a network of experts in academia and industry. Alongside access to a global network of supporters, teams will have the chance of winning one of three prizes valued at over $2000 each, and all participants will be recognised via a certificate of commendation and a LinkedIn recommendation (if they wish).

  • The student-led project must directly address at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development goals (SDGs)
  • The project team must be led by at least one current student or recent graduate (two years or less) who started the project whilst at the host university
  • The video submission to RISE must be an original piece of work that is not publicly available elsewhere
  • Projects may be individual or group led. Where there is a large student group participating of more than 7 students, a leadership group of up to 7 students should be identified as the main entrants

Teams should submit a short written statement about their project and a link to their video pitch to advisor4globaled@unsw.edu.au by 28th October, 2019.
