UNSW inspires at the NSW International Student Awards

Published: 3 October 2019

On Wednesday night, several UNSW students and staff members attended the 2019 NSW International Student Awards at Government House.

An initiative of the NSW Government, the International Student Awards recognise the outstanding contributions international students make to communities in NSW and celebrate excellence in international student community engagement.

Congratulations to the winners of the Community Engagement Award, Katie Gamon, Fengjie Wu and David George for their UNSW Hero Program.

Also a big congratulations to International Student Community Engagement Award finalists Bernie Li, Blair Slater and Vanessa Mastro for their Professional Development Program, and NSW Student of the Year finalists Divya Jagadeesh and Nayonika Bhattacharya.

The UNSW Hero program focuses on entrepreneurship, industry exposure, and project development. The program brings together teams of incredible students and leading industry partners, developing skills to solve challenges at UNSW and in the wider Sydney community that are not taught in conventional classroom environments.
