2020 Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program

Kyoto University is running a summer undergraduate research program in science and biotechnology sponsored by Amgen Foundation. It is an eight-week program from June 9 to August 8 2020 where you will gain research knowledge and will have the opportunity to network with other students and professionals.

You will be assigned to one of several Kyoto University departments or interdisciplinary areas as part of this program. These areas may include: biochemistry, bioengineering, biotechnology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, molecular genetics, and neuroscience. Attendance to the Amgen Scholars Asia Symposium is also a part of this program.

Undergraduate students who have completed their first year of study and are interested in pursuing a Ph.D.



180,000 yen will be provided to Amgen Scholars. Scholars will receive: 90,000 yen at the beginning of the program 90,000 yen in the middle of July

You should apply directly to the Program via their website by 5 p.m. 3 February 2020 (AEST).

Risk assessment

All programs involve some degree of risk to participants. If you choose to source a provider on your own, please remember to do some research on them first and ensure that they are a legitimate organisation and that the product they offer will definitely meet your requirements. Students are therefore advised to undertake their own risk assessment before departure and any participation in these programs is at their own risk.
