Virtual Internship in Indonesia in Summer 2021

In 2021, the Law Professional Practicum (LPP) will be offered virtually! This program provides students with a unique opportunity to gain professional experience and establish networks in Indonesia.

Students will undertake online Indonesian language and cultural classes, and seminars about Indonesia’s legal industry. Students will complete a virtual professional placement (160-hour internship) with an Indonesian or international firm (or with an individual practitioner) operating in Indonesia. No background in Indonesian language is required to participate in this program.

Indonesia will be a key economic partner in Australia’s future as they are expected to become the fourth largest economy in the world. With links in trade, tourism and commerce, it is important to understand their complex legal system. Get to know our nearest neighbour!

You must be eligible to enrol in LAWS3555 or JURD7555, have a WAM of 65 or above in your Law/Juris Doctor degree and have a good academic standing. 

You may be eligible to receive a $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. Click here to see if you meet the eligibility criteria. You may be eligible to receive a virtual NCP Mobility Grant in addition to receiving one short-term and one semester in-country NCP Mobility Grant. 

There is no separate application for a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. All students will have their eligibility to receive a grant assessed as part of the application process.

The application deadline to apply to ACICIS is Thursday 1 October 2020.

You must apply to ACICIS to be accepted into the program and to UNSW for approval for Cross Institutional Study to get credit for your degree.

After you receive your letter of approval for cross institutional study from Student Services please email it to

Please send your ACICIS University Approval form (from ACICIS) to the same address to be signed and returned to ACICIS. 



Course credit for LAWS3555/JURD7555 will be transferred to your Academic Statement after the UNSW Law Director of Experiential Learning approves your transcript sent from ACICIS after your completion of the program.
