Tell me about your story and culture is an educational event that aims to highlight and celebrate the cultural diversity and personal stories of the over 10,000 domestic and international postgraduate students at UNSW.
This event consists of two parts:
Share your experiences of hardship, racism, self-discovery and culture. All stories will then be compiled into an electronic book and will be available for download and archived.
A judging panel consisting of UNSW EDI representatives (staff and students on the EDI committee) as well as the Equity and Women’s Officers of the UNSW Postgraduate Council will select outstanding entries who will be invited to present their story in a mini TEDx-style conference. UNSW staff and students will be invited to attend the conference.
At the conference, prize winners for outstanding stories will be awarded by external guests. All outstanding participants will receive a certificate and prize winners with a monetary prize. A video recording of the conference will be made available for viewing through UNSW Postgraduate Council’s YouTube account and other university social media platforms.
Conference winners will receive:
1st: $350
2nd: $250
3rd: $150
People's choice: $100
Eligibility
All domestic and international postgraduate students at UNSW, including Masters (MPhil and coursework), active PhD candidates and Professional Doctorate students (Research and coursework).
