Film on location in New Zealand

Film on location in New Zealand

Published: 28 January 2016

New Zealand's vibrant film industry makes Auckland a great place to gain practical screen production experience. The country attracts large-scale film productions (including Lord of the Rings and Avatar), and has many home-grown industry success stories to tell. New Zealand company Weta Workshop started out as two friends working from their back room and has grown into an Academy Award® winning studio working on major Hollywood productions. Another Kiwi taking their work to the world is director and screen writer Taika Waititi. After making a name for himself on small budget productions such as What We Do In The Shadows and Two Cars, One Night, he has recently written the script for Disney's next film Moana.

This is perfect for international students and graduates aiming for a career in filmmaking, or looking for a study abroad experience over the northern summer.
