PhD Career Development Scholarship Program

UNSW offers high achieving PhD candidates a unique Career Development Scholarship Program while they complete their PhD. Scholarships are open to local/domestic AND international PhD candidates.

The PhD Career Development Scholarship provides successful candidates with access to:

  • Professional mentoring,
  • Soft-skills development,
  • 12 week professional placement in one of the industry partner's facilities or offices typically within Australia or the Asia Pacific region,
  • PLUS a $24,000 scholarship.

Applications are currently closed.

  • The scholarship will be paid in fortnightly instalments.
  • During the 12 month scholarship period, successful candidates will be required/capable, with no detriment to their academic progress, to complete a 12 week professional placement in one of the industry partner's R&D facilities or office in Australia or the Asia Pacific region.
  • Placement timing will be negotiated on a case by case basis and will require the input and agreement of the candidate's PhD supervisor.
  • The scholarship amount is expected to cover all travel related and living expenses whilst candidates are on placement. The cost will vary depending on the placement location. Some industry partners may choose to contribute to candidate's expenses.
