Co-NNECTIONS is a structured professional development program delivered in partnership with industry. It provides participants with a range of practical experiences designed to help them develop their talents, grow their confidence and give direction to their career.

The program is built into stages, starting with broad exposure to the business world, and culminating in actual paid industry experience, with lots of gradual learning and support along the way. Participants will only complete the stages which they are ready and confident to undertake.

Activities across the stages include professional development workshops, networking, company site visits, mentoring, a leadership camp, and paid industry experience.

Much of the program is experienced as a group, allowing participants to form bonds with like-minded peers, and have lots of fun.

The program is open to all Indigenous students, former ASPIRE students and Equity Scholarship holders from any discipline and year of study.

The first stage of the program involves attending a range of industry events as a whole group over the course of 3 days. The group has the chance to experience their workplaces, learn about the business world and employer expectations, and practice networking.

Those successful in getting through to the second stage, will delve into their own leadership and team-work development at a residential camp, and will reflect on their personal career direction and goals with the help of a mentor.

Students who are ready for the third stage will interview with a number of industry partners, and potentially undertake a paid professional internship in a relevant industry starting in summer.
