The Education Society’s AWE Program

The Education Society's AWE (Assessment Workshop EDST) program aims to provide both the coaches and the coached the opportunity to increase their educational knowledge and experience. 

Coaches are trained to teach in teams and provide content resources for first year subjects.

Working as a group, the coaches then design lessons that teach their students how best to write their assessment tasks, understand complex content and any other general questions about the first year of an Education Degree.

Responsibilities

AWE Coaches will assist in running short classes throughout the semester. Classes will focus on assisting 1st year students cover content for their assessment. Classes will involve teaching academic writing skills and the writing styles needed for each paper as well as key content that the assessment tasks cover.

Coaches will also be expected to answer an assortment of questions from students regarding first year Education content.
