Health & Wellbeing Ambassadors

This is an opportunity for enthusiastic, students passionate about health and wellbeing, to learn and develop new skills in designing and implementing health promotion programs and events at UNSW. 


Students will work together (with the Health Promotion team) to drive a range of health initiatives on campus, relating to swimming and beach safety, nutrition and sustainability, and sexual health.

Students will be provided with a range of training opportunities. First, students will be required to attend a welcome training, which will cover the project and event planning, communication & interpersonal skills and health promotion Eligibility for UNSW Advantage principles.

Students volunteering as Learn to Swim program assistants will be provided with a brief training tailored to their role. This training will provide an overview of the Learn to Swim program, roles and responsibilities, and student expectations.

Students involved with nutrition and sustainability or sexual health related events will be provided with a training session specific to each topic, including cultural sensitivities around both topics. The training sessions will focus on giving students the tools and resources to engage in positive conversations with students, rather than just providing them with information.


1-year period - over 3 trimesters (e.g. T2 2019 - T1 2020 or T1 -T3 2020), 20-hour commitment, 2 hours per week.
