Dr Terri Chaitow (she/her) is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in Youth Mental Health and Perinatal Psychiatry. Dr Chaitow has extensive experience providing comprehensive care to across a broad range of mental health conditions. She is deeply passionate about providing early intervention in psychiatry and improving mental health outcomes for young people facing mental health challenges. Dr Chaitow creates a safe and empathetic environment where patients can openly discuss their experiences and seek guidance.
Dr Chaitow graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2008. She trained as a psychiatrist in South East Sydney across a variety of public and private settings including advanced training in Youth Mental Health, Perinatal Psychiatry and Anxiety Disorders. As a registrar, she was appointed the trainee representative to the RANZCP Section of Youth Mental Health. She obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2022.
In addition to her role at the UNSW Health Service, Dr Chaitow works as a private psychiatrist at AwareHub in Sydney, and as a VMO at the Royal Hospital for Women. Dr Chaitow believes in a holistic and individualised approach to caring for patients and improving their wellbeing.
