About Psychology and Wellness: Mental Health Connect
Sometimes finding the right support can be overwhelming, and that's where UNSW Mental Health Connect can help. We help you to find the support you need for your mental health, whether that be face-to-face or online. All contact with us is completely confidential.
How to access mental health support for UNSW Sydney students
So we can support you, we need to know some information about you and your concerns.
First appointment
Mental Health Connect is available to all currently enrolled UNSW Sydney students.
To access Mental Health Connect, complete our online confidential form. Your information will be reviewed by our Mental Health Connect clinicians. You will be contacted by a clinician within 24 hrs of submitting the form to discuss your circumstances in more detail.
Existing Psychology and Wellness client
If you are an existing client that has made an appointment with UNSW Psychology and Wellness in the past 6 months, click below to make your next appointment or to change the time of an upcoming appointment.
ADFA/Canberra students
If you are an ADFA/Canberra student needing mental health support, please visit the UNSW Canberra Student Counselling Service.
Need to speak to someone
For non-urgent 24/7 mental health support, call (02) 9385 5418 to speak with someone. Direct counsellor support is also available after hours via text 0485 826 595 (5pm-9am weekdays, 24hrs weekends/public holidays).
Advice for UNSW staff
Staff members looking for advice to help a student can call (02) 9385 5418. Advice afterhours is limited to mental health, and not specific to UNSW.

What can I expect if offered an appointment?
Appointments are scheduled to last around 30 minutes. We will ask you some questions to help work out what might help. We always work with you as an individual and will always treat you with respect.
What happens after an appointment?
Depending on your circumstances and only with your consent, you may be referred to other support services, such as UNSW Student Support or the UNSW Health service, or support in your local area. We always provide students with a clear plan for next steps.
