About the program

The Acicis Professional Practicum Programs provide students with a unique opportunity to gain professional experience and establish networks in Indonesia.  Learn more about the programs available below:

Placements

When you apply for a professional practicum program, you can select your placement preferences. While you can nominate specific organisations, they are not guaranteed, so flexibility is key! Acicis staff will match you with organisations based on your interests, your experience and availability of placements. Your placement will provide you with the building blocks to lead and innovate, testing your ability to adapt and thrive in diverse environments.

Language

You don’t need to speak Bahasa Indonesia to participate in Acicis programs, with the majority of the programs offered in English. All Acicis programs include a Bahasa Indonesia study component to encourage cultural immersion. All language levels are available from complete beginner to advanced.

NCP Grant Eligibility

You may be eligible to receive a $4,000 New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Grant.

There is no separate application for a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. All students are strongly encouraged to apply and will have their eligibility to receive a grant assessed as part of the application process.

Enrolment Type and Fees

Enrolment Type: DIRECT ENROLMENT

Program fee: AUD $5,735 for UNSW students (eligible students can receive $4000 NCP Mobility Grant)

Credit transfer

Approval for credit transfer for learning abroad programs is at the discretion of your Faculty.

Completion of an approved Short Course typically will lead to the awarding of 6 or 12 Free Elective Units of Credit, or where applicable, 6 or 12 General Education Units of Credit toward your UNSW program.

Please note: The objective of Learning Abroad Short Programs is to grant students an opportunity to learn in an international environment. Due to this, students are not eligible to receive Credit at UNSW for Short Programs undertaken in their country of permanent residence (home country).

Check if you meet the eligibility criteria for credit transfer at:  https://www.student.unsw.edu.au/learningabroad/short/credit

Students otherwise may be approved to take a Short Course on a Not-for-Credit basis.
