Take part in a Medicine & Health student research study

Published:

Health professionals need to continually update their knowledge to ensure patient safety and improve outcomes, and therefore should be lifelong learners. Based on the education theories, one of the main attributes of lifelong learners is having self-regulated and self-directed aptitudes of learning. It is imperative to design a valid and reliable tool for measuring this in health professional students, which will assist in research to determine the enablers of and barriers to these aptitudes.

Researchers at UNSW are conducting a project to develop a tool for measuring self-regulated learning in health professional students. Student enrolled in Exercise Physiology, Optometry, Pharmacy, and Nutrition programs at UNSW Medicine and Health are invited to take part.

If you are interested, the research project is looking for people who are:

  • Enrolled in one of the following programs at UNSW Medicine and Health:
    • Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (3871)
    • Bachelor of Exercise Science/Master of Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology (3896)
    • Bachelor of Applied Exercise Science/Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology (3897)
    • Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Medicine/Master of Pharmacy (3895)
    • Bachelor of Nutrition/Master of Dietetics and Food Innovation (3894)
    • Bachelor of Vision Science (3181)
    • Bachelor of Vision Science/ Master of Clinical Optometry (3182)

Taking part in this research study is optional and your decision to participate will have no impact on your assessments or course grades.
