About the program

Tohoku University Japanese Program (TUJP) is a short program designed to improve your Japanese proficiency and deepen your understanding of Japan.

The program consists of intensive Japanese lessons with many hands-on activities to practice Japanese. In addition, there are interactive lessons on traditional and modern Japanese culture and society. Moreover, there are collaborative learning activities with local Tohoku University students. Also “buddies” (local students) will make you feel welcome, and assist you during the program.

This program also includes relevant lectures and cultural workshops as well as many opportunities to interact with Tohoku University students.

Enrolment Type and Fees

Enrolment Type: DIRECT ENROLMENT 

Fees: JPY 80,000 Program fee (includes tuition fee and textbooks)

Academic Credit

Approval for credit transfer is at the discretion of your Faculty.

Students otherwise may be approved to take a Short Course on a Not-for-Credit basis.
