About the program

Join the HUMAN'INSA program and embark on a fun yet challenging adventure! INSA Lyon offers you high-quality courses, fun activities and a chance to meet students from all over the world. Choose from a course in either Artificial Intelligence or Humanitarian Engineering, plus a French Language and Cross-Cultural Communication course.

When in Lyon, you will experience a vibrant and culturally rich city, one of Europe's most attractive destinations, the capital of French gastronomy, and where tradition meets innovation.

HUMAN'INSA includes two tracks.

Track 1

Choose one of the following courses:

Artificial Intelligence: Overview of fundamental AI concepts, implementation of the acquired concepts
in a project, and a visit to an AI-related company.

OR

Humanitarian Engineering: Overview of the humanitarian sector and issues at stake, project cycle in humanitarian contexts, application of engineering competencies to the aid sector, work in groups on a case study.

(For this track only: Two preparatory online sessions at the end of April and at the end of May)

Track 2 (Compulsory)

French Language and Cross-Cultural Communication: Introduction to French as a foreign language and development of intercultural competence.

Social activities are also offered in the program, such as  guided cultural visits of Lyon and surroundings, gastronomic experiences, parties with INSA students and free week-ends to travel in Europe and explore different regions in France!

Enrolment Type and Fees

Enrolment Type: Exchange places may be available

Fees: For Exchange - students nominated for an Exchange place will pay regular tuition fees to UNSW only

Academic Credit

Approval for credit transfer is at the discretion of your Faculty. Credit approval can only be given prior to the commencement of a Learning Abroad program - no retrospective requests will be accepted.

Completion of an approved Short Course typically will lead to the awarding of 6 or 12 Free Elective Units of Credit, or where applicable, 6 or 12 General Education Units of Credit toward your UNSW program.

Students otherwise may be approved to take a Short Course on a Not-for-Credit basis.

Confirm your commencement of the program

Connect and Engage while Learning Abroad

Return from Learning Abroad and complete credit transfer (if applicable)

Step 9

Reflect and complete the Returned Student Questionnaire

Step 10

Become a Learning Abroad ambassador and share your experience!
