School of Health Sciences | Join the School Board

Published:

The School of Health Sciences is looking for undergraduate representatives to sit on the Health Sciences School Board Committee.

What is the School Board?

The School Board is the highest governance instrument in the School and is chaired by our Head of School, Prof. Eleanor Beck. The University requires that at least three students sit on the board and provide input into decisions that affect our student community.

What will I be asked to do as a member of the School Board?

The Board will meet on Thursday 22 May and Thursday 6 November in 2025. Representatives will be asked to provide a short report summarising agenda items.

As the undergraduate representative, this is an opportunity to share the achievements and positive experiences of your peers with the School. You can also raise challenges that your cohort is facing and offer suggestions for improvement or training requirements for undergraduate students in our School.

The term is a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years. The board composition may be reviewed in the coming months, though we will continue to require student representation.

I'm interested! How can I apply?

We invite you to submit an expression of interest. Please include why this opportunity is of interest to you, what impact you believe you could have on the board and the strategies you will use to engage with the School's undergraduate students on issues which may impact them.

Please submit your expression of interest to the School of Health Sciences Administration & Operations team at [email protected] by 5pm, Monday 10 March.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
