UNSW Law & Justice Gateway Plus Program

Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility for the Law & Justice Gateway Plus Program (‘program”) is based on students who enrolled with UNSW through the Gateway Admissions Pathway Program, and who are enrolled as of Monday of O Week in Term 1 or Term 3. 

  1. The financial support is for the purchase of core Law (LAWS) and Criminology (CRIM) course textbooks only to a maximum value of $300 per annum, irrespective of whether the student is enrolled full-time or part-time.  

  1. The textbook funds may not be used for the purchase of any elective course textbooks. 

  1. The textbook funds may not be used for the purchase of eBooks.  

  1. In cases of enrolment in dual programs, the funds may not be used to purchase textbooks for any non-law or non-criminology courses. 

  1. The grant is only available to be used at the UNSW Bookshop and cannot be transferred to other bookshops, is not exchangeable for cash and unused funds cannot be transferred to other students or carried over from one year to the next. 

  1. Identified eligible students are the intended beneficiaries of the textbook financial support. Buying textbooks for other students is prohibited and could result in permanent disqualification from the program. 

  1. Only one copy of each textbook may be bought under this program. 

  1. The financial support provided by this program is not available to students who have access to the Law & Justice Paul Rodwell Textbook Scheme. 

  1. LLB, BCCJ and JD domestic students who are not eligible for this program, but are experiencing financial hardship, and would like to explore eligibility for Faculty support of $300 towards core textbook purchases may email [email protected] for further details. If financial support for textbooks is approved, eligibility does not extend to the other support services provided by the Law & Justice Gateway Plus program. Additional financial support may also be available to students from UNSW by making an appointment with a Student Support Advisor.  

  1. Any decisions related to eligibility will be reviewed by the Law & Justice Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Director. 

  1. The Program eligibility and opportunities are subject to change following review for 2026.
