I solemnly pledge to practice medicine with conscience and dignity.
I will think critically, creatively, and compassionately, and always put my patients' best interests first.
I will do no harm, whether out of negligence, pride, or indifference.
I will see the whole patient and will use my knowledge and skills to prevent and alleviate suffering. I acknowledge that to cure is not always possible, and I will provide whatever care I am able to while respecting the dignity and autonomy of every person.
I will keep the confidences of my patients and will not breach the trust invested in me as their doctor, advocate, and ally.
I will recognise my limits and ask for help. I understand the need for ongoing learning and will continually improve my practice.
I will pass on knowledge and experience to my colleagues and students, treat them respectfully, and remember the generosity of those who have taught before me.
I will use my training and professional standing to advocate for change that addresses health inequities.
I will maintain my own wellbeing, so that I can best serve my patients.
