Student ID Card

Student ID Card

Due to COVID-19, UNSW is preparing a staged return to campus over the coming few months, this means that we cannot print you a Student ID Card at this time.

We will let you know when it's safe to come in and get your Student ID Card!

How do I prove I'm a UNSW Student?

If you need to prove you are a student at UNSW, you can order an official UNSW letter confirming your enrolment details.

When using a Concession Opal Card, you normally need your Student ID Card to prove you are an eligible student, as we can't give you a Student ID Card yet, Transport for NSW have advised that you can use a Transport Concession Entitlement Card instead.

All students enrolling at UNSW are issued with a Student Identification (ID) Card.

You will use your Student ID Card for identification, building access and university transactions such as borrowing books from the UNSW Library.

Your card must be:

  • Carried whenever you are on campus;
  • Presented when borrowing books from the university libraries;
  • Presented when using any of the secure access labs, buildings and study spaces;
  • Displayed on your desk for the duration of all university examinations.
