Positions and responsibilities

President

  • Oversees and coordinates the activities and administration of the club;
  • Ensures that all tasks necessary for the running of the activities of the society are performed, properly either by doing them or delegating the duties;
  • Acts as official spokesperson for the club;
  • Acquaints and briefs each committee member with their function, responsibility, duties and maintain personal contact with them; and
  • Liaises with Arc and departments of the University where necessary.

Vice President

  • Acts as a delegate to the President
  • Oversees the general functioning and operation of their respective directors
  • Acts as a point of contact between directors and the President.

Secretary

  • Responsible for receiving and replying to all correspondence on behalf of the club;
  • Organises meetings, agendas (in consultation with the President), and minutes;
  • Keeps relevant club papers in order; and
  • Coordinates elections.

Treasurer

  • Keeps and maintains all club financial records;
  • To carry out financial transactions as directed by the club management; and
  • Ensures that club funds are not misused at any time.

Director / Co-ordinator

  • Oversees the general functioning and operation of their respective portfolio or activity.

Arc Delegate

  • Communicates with the Executive before and after each Arc Clubs General Meeting to pass on information (about grants etc.);
  • Liaises with Arc and the club’s Executive;
  • Attend Arc Clubs General Meetings or nominate a fellow club member to attend on their behalf.

Executive Member

  • Generally holding a director or higher position
  • Reports to the Executive their respective responsibilities and portfolios.
