Term 3 Course Enrolment Update | Master of Education and Master of Educational Leadership

The School of Education has added two new Foundation courses to the Master of Education (8913) and Master of Educational Leadership (8963) programs. These Foundation courses are designed to support students to build a solid foundation in university study skills and Education Studies, preparing you for stream specialisations in the future.  

These courses are:  

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education

2 Year Program Plan students (no credit cohort) 

Students in the first year of the 2 Year program should enrol in at least one (or both) of the two new foundation courses in Term 3 2024: 

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education and/or  
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education 

Students in the first term of the 2 Year program should enrol in both of these foundation courses in Term 3 2024: 

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education and  
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education

1.7 year Program Plan students (24 UOC credit cohort) 

Students in the first year of the 1.7 year program should enrol in at least one (or both) of the two new foundation courses in Term 3 2024: 

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education and/or  
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education 

Students in the first term of the 1.7 year program should enrol in both of these foundation courses in Term 3 2024: 

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education and  
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education 

Enrolment in EDST5106 Advanced Behaviour Support Strategies in Term 3 2024

If you are in the 2 year or 1.7 year programs, please un-enrol from EDST5106 Advanced Behaviour Support Strategies in Term 3 2024 if you have not first completed EDST5133 Creating Engaging Learning Environments.

EDST5133 must be completed first as it covers the basics of classroom management and provides a foundation for the more advanced strategies covered in EDST5106. 

Please note that EDST5133 Creating Engaging Learning Environments will be offered to Master of Education / Master of Educational Leadership students from 2025.

Alternate enrolment options:

  • EDST5099 University Study Skills in Education and/or  
  • EDST5100 Fields of Practice in Education 

These foundation courses will better suit your current academic progress and will provide you with a better learning experience as you progress through your program.
