Estate Management is pleased to announce that the refresh to Barker Street Carpark, levels 4 and 5 will be completed and open from Friday, 29 November 2024, weather permitting. There are 174 additional parking spaces available for use.
Upcoming works
Location: Level 2 and 3 works, (including minor works Level 1)
Date: Late November to mid-December 2024
Detail: Continuing upgrade to level 2 and 3, with stormwater works on Level 1
Access: Level 2 and 3 will be sectioned off, with access to Level 4 and 5 still available
From Friday 20 December to Sunday 19 January Barker Street Carpark will be closed for safety and maintenance upgrades. The works will include removal and installation of new asphalt to the entire Level 1, handrail upgrades in the fire stair and inground stormwater connections.
How does it affect me?
- Alternative parking in Western Campus Carpark (next to Nida), H25 Botany Street Carpark is available during the works. Please consider using public transport. Works on Level 2 and 3 will proceed concurrently with the work on Level 1. Access to Levels 4 and 5 will remain available.
- Willis Street pedestrian footbridge to Level 5 carpark will be open for use.
- The Bike Store on ground floor will remain operational.
- Additional exit signage and traffic controllers will be provided to direct building occupants and visitors.
- There will be tradespeople moving about, expect some noise, vibration, dust and other impacts associated with construction works.
- These works will be in place until mid-January when Level 1 is handed back to UNSW.
- In the event of an emergency, please continue to use the existing fire egress pathways.
