When using images (such as clip art or stock images) that have a licence requiring attribution, the copyright details are required in the figure note and a reference entry is required in the reference list.
The UNSW library lawn image example comes from Flicker (unsw.flickr account) and has a Creative Commons license (CC BY 2.0). The Creative Commons license for the image requires attribution. This is placed in the note below the image.
