With the transition back to in-person classes and activity on campus, there will be some changes in the way exams are delivered, including the return of face-to-face exams and the continued use of our online exam platform, Inspera.
It is mandatory for students to sit their centrally managed invigilated final exams on campus.
Check which exam delivery type you'll have based on which courses you are enrolled in.

FAQs
What is an 'invigilated exam'?
An invigilated exam means that there will be a UNSW staff member supervising the exam on campus.
What exam type does my course have?
Check your course in Moodle for details of your exam or speak to your Course Authority if you are unsure.
If your course has an Inspera exam, you will receive an email in the lead up to the exam period that will outline everything you need to know about sitting an Inspera exam.
You can also check your Exam Timetable for details when available.
What is Inspera?
Inspera is an easy-to-use digital assessment platform, which allows for centralised live support during an exam, user customisation for increased accessibility, and designed to be simple for students to use.
What if I don't have my own laptop?
Students with an Inspera on-campus invigilated exam will need to bring a laptop to complete their final exam.
If you are doing an online exam (online or invigilated) then you may also need your own laptop.
Getting your own laptop
There are some student discounts available for education device purchases.
This means that with some retailers, you can get a discount on a laptop for your studies.
If you aren't sure what kind of laptop you need, you can talk to the UNSW IT Service centre for advice.
Please note that for any exam that requires you to bring your own device, it must be a laptop.
Borrowing a laptop
You can borrow a laptop from the Main UNSW Library, Law Library, or Paddington Library for a 4-hour period.
If you have an online, non-invigilated exam, you can also book a desktop computer at the Main UNSW Library.
Using your own laptop for your exam
Make sure you:
- Connect your laptop to the uniwide wifi network
- Fully charge your laptop
- Bring your charging cable just in case!
- Can access all the programs you need for your exam.
