Dr Bill Kefalas (he/him) MBBS (Melb), M. Med.Ed (Syd), is an experienced GP and medical educator with a strong interest and involvement in student health, clinical family medicine and medical education at all levels. He is a graduate of the Melbourne University Medical School and holds a Masters in Medical Education from Sydney University.
He commenced working as the Director of Health Services at UNSW in 2012 after 25 years in general practice in Western Sydney. In late 2018 he accepted the new role of Director of Health and Wellbeing in Student Life and Communities where he oversaw the re build of both the health and Mental Health services at UNSW. He also played a senior role in the Covid-19 response at UNSW. Following a restructure Bill has relinquished that role and is now working as a contracted GP at the Health Service.
Bill is a GP Supervisor for the local Regional Training providers (GP Synergy).
He also has an interest in Rural and Remote Indigenous health and still works as a GP locum in areas of need on an annual basis.
