Dr Bill Kefalas MBBS (Melb), M. Med.Ed (Syd), is an experienced GP and medical educator with a strong interest and involvement in student health, clinical family medicine and medical education at all levels. He is a graduate of the Melbourne University Medical School and holds a Masters in Medical Education from Sydney University.
He commenced working as the Director of Health Services at UNSW in 2012 after 25 years in general practice in Western Sydney. In late 2018 he accepted the new role of Director of Health and Wellbeing in Student Life and Communities.
The new Directors role involves leading and managing the University Health Service, CAPS and Health Promotion Units and advising the University in matters pertaining to student, staff and community health. The team he leads aims to provide competent, caring integrated patient-centered care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness for the whole University community.
Bill is a GP Supervisor for the local Regional Training providers (GP Synergy).
He also has an interest in Rural and Remote Indigenous health and still works as a GP locum in areas of need on an annual basis.
