Dr Monique Akouri (she/her) graduated with Honours from The University Of Tasmania in 2006. After further training at the Royal Hobart Hospital she returned to Sydney to work at Sydney Children's Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital & Campbelltown Hospital. After working for 7 years in the hospital system she decided to pursue a career in General Practice and completed her fellowship in General Practice in 2017. Monique also has a Diploma in Child Health & National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health.
Monique enjoys all areas of General Practice, with particular interest in women's & children's health, sexual health, geriatrics & chronic health issues. She also has a strong interest in medical education and is an adjunct lecturer for UNSW Medicine.
Monique is a supervisor for the local regional training providers (RACGP).
In early 2023 Monique commenced the role of Head of the UNSW Health Service and she continues to also see patients here as a GP.
