UNSW Health recommends all individuals aged 5 years and above strongly consider getting vaccinated. All TGA approved Covid-19 vaccines are very effective at reducing the risk of severe disease and reduce the spread of the virus.

We currently have in stock the NEW Pfizer JN.1 Covid-19 Vaccine for adults. We are not administering Covid-19 vaccinations for children.

Booster doses

Who is recommended to have a booster vaccine dose?  Adults 18 to 64 years It is recommended to have an a 2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose if you are severely immunocompromised and it has been 6 months since your last dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection.  If you are not at higher risk of severe illness, you can consider getting a 2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose if it has been 6 months since your last dose or infection. You can speak to a healthcare provider about this.  75 years or older It is recommended to have an a 2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose if 6 months has passed since your last dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection.   65 to 75 years It is recommended to have a 2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose if 6 months has passed since your last dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection.   People aged 5 to 17 years A booster dose may be considered for children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 years who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 or have a disability with significant or complex health needs. This should be based on a discussion with your child’s doctor or vaccination provider.   This applies to children and adolescents whose last COVID-19 vaccine dose or confirmed infection (whichever is the most recent) was 6 months ago or more. It does not matter how many doses the child or adolescent has received before.   A booster dose is not currently recommended for children and adolescents aged under 18 years who are not at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.   Children aged under 5 years Booster doses are not recommended for children aged under 5 years at this time. https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/vaccination/boosters#toc-who-is-recommended-to-have-a-booster-vaccine-dose    

The Health Service is currently offering Pfizer JN.1 Covid-19 vaccine as a booster dose.
Please call the Health Service for an appointment or book online as soon as possible as supplies are limited.

Vaccines for Children Aged 5-17 years

We are not vaccinating children for COVID at present. 

Who is Eligible? 

A booster dose should be considered for children between 5-17 years old who have medical comorbidities that increase their risk of severe COVID-19, or disability with significant or complex health needs. 

A booster is not recommended for those under 18 with no risk factors for severe COVID-19

AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria)-what do I do about my Booster dose?

If you have already had your second dose of the AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) vaccine it is highly recommended to have a booster.
