About Mind Smart guides

Tom: MIND SMART modules take you quickly and super simply through the physical and psychological causes of stress, and gives you a ton of ways to work through stress and anxiety.

Nash: Sometimes you search on the web and you get a whole bunch of information and it isn't really relevant, but this was really focused and important for me as a student. All the information is in one location. I can access it, and it is really easy to digest, and it is all up to date. It made me realise that I was not the only one worrying about my studies. I can start to work things out by myself, and if I can’t I now know where to get help.

Angela: The sleep module really helped me because there were really a lot of things that I didn’t know about sleep. I learned that you have to have routine, kind of ritual before you go to sleep.

Tom: I didn't really get the importance of feedback until I saw the video. It made me think about how I respond to situations where I get feedback.  I've learned that the mindfulness strategies that I practice already are really important and I should actually keep up with them because with the meditation, with the sleep habits, you always sort of end up falling out of that routine after a while if you don’t actually try and keep it up.

Nash: One thing that I learned was that you have to be prepared for your exams. You have to umm be prepared and it's going to help you have less anxiety, and after the exam as well try to avoid thinking about it because once it’s done, it’s done. You can't do anything about it, it's done. You had your best shot. You got nothing to lose, everything to gain, it’s a really good resource.

Angela: A lot of students have problems that they might not necessary want to talk to other people about, so this resource is an easy, kind of place for them to help work on their problems without being judged. Take a look at online resources, talk to a friend.

Nash: I will say, we all feel anxious from time to time. Don’t be afraid to talk to a friend or counsellor at the CAPS clinic.  I mean the CAPS is free, so take a small step and help yourself.
